劉長樂于1996年創(chuàng)立的鳳凰衛(wèi)視，如今已發(fā)展成為擁有6個電視頻道、互聯(lián)網(wǎng)、戶外電子大屏幕、周刊、出版、廣播和教育等多元化的媒體集團。劉長樂2004年獲香港特區(qū)政府委任為太平紳士。2008年獲美國國際艾美理事會獎。2010年獲香港特區(qū)政府頒授銀紫荊星章。2012年獲DHL—南華早報香港商業(yè)成就大獎。劉長樂擔任多間內地大學的客座教授或校董，并擔任中國傳媒大學博士生導師。他是香港城市大學榮譽文學博士，并被該校商學院聘為國際咨詢委員會主席。劉長樂同時是第十屆、十一屆全國政協(xié)委員，現(xiàn)任十二屆全國政協(xié)常務委員。

In 1996, LIU Changle founded Phoenix Satellite Television Company Limited, which now operates six satellite TV channels and has merged many other business fronts, including new media, outdoor LED, weekly magazine, publishing, radio broadcasting and education. Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings., Ltd is a listed company in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Its new media subsidiary IFENG.COM also went public in NYSE in 2011. Now accessed throughout the globe, Phoenix boasts of one of the most influential cross-border Chinese-language media organization. Mr. Liu has been appointed Justice of the Peace by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In November 2008, Mr. Liu received the International Emmy? Directorate Award. In 2010, Mr. Liu was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR. In 2012, Mr. Liu received the Outstanding Business Achievement elected by DHL-South China Morning Post Business Award. Mr. Liu is a visiting professor and director of the board at a number of mainland universities. He is now doctoral adviser at Communication University of China. He was conferred honorary doctoral degree in literature by the City University of Hong Kong and was appointed Chairman of the International Advisory Board by the College of Business of the City University of Hong Kong. He was member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He is now a Standing Committee Member of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC.

Since it began operating on 31 March 1996, Phoenix Satellite Television has been striving constantly to provide quality Mandarin programming to the global Chinese communities, with an ultimate objective of "shortening the distance between the Chinese around the world". The dynamism of this massive market, combined with successful expansion strategies, has allowed Phoenix to develop a multi-channel platform.

Today, Phoenix Chinese, Phoenix Movies, Phoenix InfoNews, Phoenix Chinese News and Entertainment, and Phoenix North America Chinese channels together broadcast to audiences around the world via AsiaSat 3, EUROBIRD, DIRECTV and ECHOSTAR and so on, and Phoenix Satellite Television has now become a global well-known brand.

Nowadays, Phoenix Satellite Television has grown into a multi-national media enterprise with a global reputation and world-wide brand recognition. Besides its television operations, the Phoenix Group now runs a multi-media business, including the Phoenix Weekly magazine and the Phoenix Website. The Group also continues to diversify its business and has formed a joint-venture company "Beijing Tongbu Guanggao Chuanbo Youxian Gongsi" with the Beijing People's Broadcasting Station to expand the domestic radio market.
