The professional venues of Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Malik include conceiving, planning and production of programs in all radio formats. His areas of expertise are Rural Programs, Development Communication, Folk Music, OBs, Special Programs Based on Cultural Heritage and Literature, Documentaries, Mega Public Shows, and Grand Cultural Rural Festivals. He earned a good name in these areas. Furthermore, he gained extraordinary skills in disaster management related broadcast in the aftermath of the devastating 2005 earthquake in northern Pakistan & Kashmir, and the many long spells of droughts and destructive floods in 2010 across the country. He has vast experience in supervision of FM, MW, Community Broadcast and External Broadcast in Foreign Languages.
The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation includes the domestic broadcast department, foreign broadcast department, FM101, FM93, and FM94. It has 64 radio stations around the country, of which 34 are FM stations and 30 are shortwave stations, which broadcast 702 minutes of 123 news programs in 29 languages every day. Of these, domestic broadcasts use 23 languages, covering 80% of the country and 98% of the populace. The foreign broadcast department airs 8 hours of programming every day in 10 different languages in Afghanistan, Iran, China, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Western Europe.
