 Mr. Masood Malik was appointed as the Managing Director, Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation in October, 2015.He has devised new professional roadmap for this news organization within a short time span, based on editorial vision, enabling it to play an effective professional role in the comity of print and electronic media houses. APP is now well-positioned to embark upon professional track to meet growing print, pictorial and electronic needs of newspapers and private TV news channels. Possessing diverse professional experience and skills, he has led the news organization to new heights, and has set up a social media section and transforming APP website into web news portal.

The Associated Press of Pakistan is Pakistan's national news agency. It was found in 1947, and the government officially began management in 1961. In 2002, Associated Press of Pakistan Group was established, and it began operating as a corporation.

Every day, the Associated Press of Pakistan gathers and disseminates domestic and international news in English, Urdu, Sindhi, and Pashto to newspapers, radio stations, TV stations, government offices, and some foreign media outlets.

The Associated Press of Pakistan has special correspondents in Washington, New York, London, Beijing, and New Delhi, and has signed news exchange agreements with 37 foreign news agencies.
