要跟諸上善人相處，怎么樣讓諸上善人接受我們呢？

You have to constantly be the person of virtue。 How do you do that？

我要有禮貌，我要勤勞，我要負責任。

You have to have manners， you have to be diligent， and you have to be responsible。

甚至吃過飯以后還要飯食經行，還要運動呢。

And then after eating a meal， you have to do walking meditation， you have to exercise。

那許多樹木花草，你能不去澆水嗎？

Then you have to tend to all the trees along the roads。

那些七寶樓閣，你能不保持它的清潔、干凈、莊嚴美麗嗎？

And then you have to maintain all these jewel pavilions by keeping them clean。

我的意思是，到了極樂世界一樣的很辛苦。

What I‘m trying to say is life in Pure Land would be just as hard。

你在這個世間上，養(yǎng)成了勤勞的習慣，念佛、念法、念僧，加以信仰，將來到了極樂世界，就會習慣了。

Therefore， what‘s more important right now is for you to begin by nurturing your nature of diligence in chanting the Buddha， the Dharma and the Sangha， and one day when you eventually arrive in Pure Land， everything would be easier。

每次被問及英語為什么這么好時，妙光法師都謙虛地說：我在國外生活長大。但其實最開始，她是個英語倒數第一的孩子。

妙光法師出生在臺灣的富裕家庭，12歲移民澳洲。那時，她英語零基礎，性格內向，常受欺負。她說：100分滿分的英文課，她只能考3分半。

這段時間，她母親常去澳洲的佛光山道場散心，讓妙光接觸到了一些基礎的佛法。
